We watched a mother with her ducklings along the edge of the Thames the other day. The babies were very active but sometimes the small waves were too much for them and rolled them onto the beach. This seemed not to harm them or cause them any anxiety. Their enthusiasm for exploration and their energy were both amusing and touching.
