Most of us, here in the lower mainland, woke up to a winter wonderland on Saturday morning. The weather had been so good for all of the fall that it came as a surprise to realize that winter was upon us. Normally the days get colder and wetter as we move into late fall/early winter giving us a warning of what is soon to come, but this year it just seemed to pounce on us!
The temperatures have dipped into the minuses and is expected to dip as low as -10C on Tuesday, but the days are sunny so it doesn't really seem too bad. The mountains, shimmering in their winter finery, are beautiful!
This picture was taken just a block from our house. No matter how many times over the winter I will see this sight it never ceases to fill me with awe.
It has become colder here too, though if I were to specify the thermometer reading you would call me a wimp!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you have inspiring panoramas so near home. Here in the heart of London we have only cityscapes, though they can be beautiful in their own way, especially when illuminated at night. Ultimately, though, I agree a mountain trumps a BT Tower!
Thank you for taking the cold away from us and leaving us the beautiful, warm, temps we had this weekend! I sat out in the sunshine and actually got hot! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely! I'm going to look at my palm trees now, to remind myself to be grateful. ;-)
