What a difference a Day Makes!

Yesterday the sun was shining beautifully and my daughter pointed out that last year on this weekend we had 18 cm of snow and the power was out in many places in the lower mainland because of snow and winds. Today we awoke to the opposite of yesterday. It was dark, cold and and dank. By afternoon the snow had started in many places and tonight it is that nasty sloppy muck. Hard to walk in and even harder to drive in. Lot's of fender benders around as west coasters never get used to driving in this kind of stuff.
While surfing the net the other day I came across this picture and had to take a second look. It is done by Del Prete he does subliminal art and at first glance this looks like a naked lady pinning up a sheer curtain, but if you look more closely you will see what it really is.
I am an artist wanna be . I have not got the time to really do much with painting or sketching, but I always do line drawings on note pads and memos while I in meetings or on the telephone. One day I will have time to pursue this art in the meantime I will envy people like Del Prete!

  1. ok i'm the dumb one; cant see anything but a naked lady hanging up a sheer curtain. Thought i'd find the answer at the link to Del Prete but it dosnt take me there.

  2. It's a towel that has a picture painted on it of a naked lady. You can see the real woman's reflection in the window behind her. It looks like she's wearing a dress and even an apron because something's tied at her waist. You can even see her dress peeking out at the bottom just beneath the towel from the front.

  3. Hi Lorena - I don't know what happened to the link, but I redid it this morning.
Lorelei is correct - it is a woman hanging a towel with a dolphin pattern on it. Pretty cool picture.

  4. Lorraina - this time I spelled it right. Please forgive me it is 6 am and I am very tired. Thanks for dropping by. I see you live in Delta. Can I add your blog link to mine?

  5. thanks lorelei and catz for the link; i looked at some of the other art there too.Strangely enough i can see the illusions in all the other art but not really this particular one. I mean i can see her dress below the towel and the dolphins but its not really making any sense to me. oh well, win a few, lose a few, lol.(i'm really good though with that type of art that you have to make your eyes go all wonky in order to see a totally different 3-D pic)
Please do add my link if you like but alas i dont know how to add you back with a clickable link. I havent done any new art in a while and not much new to post on my petunia blog so they're pretty boring blogs!
